Breast Augmentation in Tampa, FL

Dr. Joshua Halpern’s breast enlargements are a beautiful alternative to having breasts that you consider too small. Many women feel under-endowed, which can affect their self-esteem, clothing choices, and self-image. A breast augmentation may help address those issues.

Dr. Halpern pioneered the endoscopic mini-invasive “bloodless” breast enlargement, a procedure which is part of the Finesse Technique® and involves a faster recovery, smaller scars, and typically, no bruising. It has a high success rate, with many patients returning to work within a few days of their procedure. Many female surgeons appreciate the benefits of this procedure and choose to have Dr. Halpern perform their own breast augmentations.

What Are the Advantages of a Breast Enhancement With Dr. Halpern?

“Today I saw three of my patients from 1994, 2003, and 2005.  One of them told me that she has received many compliments over the years and her gynecologist and mammogram techs mistake them for being real.  All three women’s breasts are all soft and feel like real breasts with only having had one breast surgery with me”—Dr. Joshua Halpern, 9/2/2020.

How Is Breast Augmentation Performed?

The breast augmentation surgery is performed in Dr. Halpern’s state-of-the-art accredited operating room. Breast augmentation is performed under general anesthesia, and our licensed anesthesiologist will monitor you throughout the procedure. His goal is to keep his patients healthy and happy and make the surgery and the recovery time as comfortable as possible. In order to facilitate these goals, Dr. Halpern utilizes an instrument that he invented specifically for breast augmentations: The Halpern Breast Lighted Retractor. This instrument gives Dr. Halpern more precise control during the operation. Dr. Halpern uses his Finesse Technique® (which he developed as a gentler way of performing surgery) to make your breast pocket(s), maximize your cleavage, and minimize blood loss.

What Is Fat Transfer Breast Augmentation?

Some patients are opposed to having a breast augmentation with breast implants and prefer a more natural material to increase their breast size. For these patients, fat transfer may be an ideal solution. During a fat transfer, your surgeon will remove unwanted fat from targeted areas on your body using liposuction treatments. The fat is then purified and injected into the breast.

Many patients prefer a fat transfer breast enlargement because it is relatively quick, with small incisions and a fast recovery. This procedure is meant for patients looking for a subtle increase in breast size and may not be for everyone. Fat transfer can also be used to camouflage ripples caused by implants from other doctors. By adding an additional fatty layer above the implant, visible rippling can be minimized in patients with breast implants. It is important to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of a fat transfer compared to an implant-based breast augmentation during your consultation.

Frequently Asked Questions About Breast Augmentation

How long will my recovery from breast surgery take?

Due to the use of Dr. Halpern’s Finesse Technique® many patients are driving two days after surgery and return to work within three to five days after their surgery. Typically there is little bruising. To achieve the best results from your breast augmentation, follow Dr. Halpern’s pre and post-operative instructions.

When will I see the results of my breast augmentation?

Some results will be apparent immediately following your operation. Most patients can see their initial results two to three weeks after the procedure; however, it can take up to six months for your body to fully adjust to your new contours, and for your final results to become apparent.

What is the cost of breast augmentation in Tampa?

The price of breast augmentation can vary depending on the type of augmentation you choose, the type and size of the implant (if you get one), and if the operation is done on one or both breasts (if there is asymmetry). Other costs may include surgical, facility, and anesthesia fees. Due to the customized nature of each procedure, Dr. Halpern can provide you with your personalized quote following your consultation.

Can I get another procedure done at the same time as my breast augmentation?

Yes, many patients choose to combine breast augmentation with a breast liftliposuction, or tummy tuck surgery. When combined, these may become a Mommy Makeover.

What is the difference between silicone and saline implants?

Saline implants have an outer silicone shell but are filled with a sterile saltwater solution. Silicone implants have a similar outer shell but are filled with a silicone-based gel. These implants look and feel more like natural breast tissue, and are far more popular.
